Max, Canine-Therapy Assistant
Collie/poodle mix
Max, a border collie/poodle mix, has extensive behavioral training and experience providing canine-assisted interventions to adolescents and adults. As Erin’s co-therapist, Max has worked with individuals, families, and small groups to help them cope with and overcome PTSD symptoms, behavioral struggles, social integration problems, treatment engagement difficulties, and anxiety. When he is not involved in therapy work, Max enjoys playing with his friends, playing fetch and tug-of-war, eating homemade treats, and learning new tricks. Max has attended several community events with Erin, including the 2018 Suicide Prevention conference in Harrisburg, PA and providing psychoeducation around substance use to local college students. Max currently holds his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA) titles. Max is working to obtain his Novice Trick Dog Title (TKN) and Therapy Dog title (TDI).
