Requirements for EMDRIA Certification
To become an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, clinicians must:

Be fully licensed to practice independently as a mental health professional

Complete an EMDRIA-approved basic training in EMDR therapy

Conduct a minimum of 50 EMDR sessions with at least 25 clients

Complete 20 hours of EMDR consultation with an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant (at least 10 hours must be individual)

Submit a letter of recommendation from your EMDRIA-Approved Consultant and two letters of recommendation from peers who can speak to your EMDR clinical abilities

​Demonstrate proficiency in EMDR case conceptualization and fidelity to the protocol
