Position Title:

Outpatient Trauma Therapist

Reports To:

Clinical Director

Employment Type:

Part time; Full time

Location:

In-person at The Willow Space for Trauma Treatment

Company Description:

At The Willow Space for Trauma Treatment, we believe healing happens in connection to others. Our mission is to help people with trauma and stressor-related disorders achieve healing from past and current trauma through experiential, trauma-focused outpatient therapy.

All employees are expected to be aligned with and adhere to our core values when engaging with colleagues, leadership and clients. Our core values include:

Compassion

We approach every client and colleague with empathy, kindness, and understanding. We recognize that healing requires a safe, supportive environment where people feel truly seen and heard.

Expertise

Our clinicians bring advanced experiential training, ongoing professional development, and evidence-based interventions to the treatment experience. We deliver high-caliber clinical execution grounded in research, reflective practice, and real-world outcomes.

Intentionality

Every clinical intervention with every client and colleague is strategic and thoughtful, keeping the individual’s goals and treatment plan in the forefront. We design care approaches that are rooted in evidence based practices and uniquely tailored to the individual’s needs.

Transparency

We prioritize clear, open communication to ensure clients feel fully aligned with the therapeutic process. By elevating visibility into our methods and decisions, we create a trust-forward environment where clients can confidently engage in their healing roadmap.

Trauma-Focused Care

Our framework approaches the complexities of trauma with a bottom up, experiential approach. We apply targeted modalities that promote safety, clarity, and long-term resilience. Treating trauma and trauma-related symptoms is our primary goal.

Our team is a collective of compassionate, skilled clinicians who value authenticity, curiosity, and collaboration. We work with a large spectrum of trauma related disorders, including dissociation, C-PTSD, attachment wounding, and childhood abuse/neglect. We utilize experiential modalities such as EMDR, IFS-Informed EMDR, and attachment repair models. The Willow Space is a hybrid payment practice, taking a mixture of insurances and private pay.

We offer a supportive clinical environment where therapists can grow their expertise while maintaining curiosity for learning and compassion for clients. Whether you’re deepening your trauma treatment skills or expanding into new modalities, you’ll find a grounded, growth-oriented space here.

Position Summary:

The Outpatient Trauma Therapist provides individual, family, and/or couples therapy to clients experiencing the effects of trauma and stress-related disorders. The ideal candidate is relationally attuned, grounded in trauma-informed care, and eager to support clients on their healing journey through experiential, evidence-based interventions.

You’ll join a collaborative clinical team that values professional growth, open communication, and a genuine sense of connection—both with clients and colleagues.

Our Culture:

The Willow Space was built on the belief that the quality of care a therapist provides is inseparable from the quality of the environment they work in. We have been intentional about creating a culture that doesn’t just talk about values, it lives them, daily, in how we treat each other and the people we serve.

We are a small, close-knit team, and we take that seriously. Here, you will not be a face in a large group practice or a number on a caseload spreadsheet. You will be known for your unique contributions, your clinical voice, your strengths, your professional goals, and the things that energize you about this work.

We also understand that trauma-focused therapy is demanding in ways that are hard to articulate to people who haven’t done it. Holding the weight of complex trauma, navigating dissociation, sitting with clients in their darkest material. This work asks something profound of the clinician. We don’t minimize that. We build around it.

Our culture values curiosity over certainty, collaboration over competition, and sustainability over hustle. We celebrate clinical growth, encourage honest conversation, and make space for the full humanity of the people who work here, as we believe that is what makes us better clinicians.

Who Thrives Here:

The right fit for The Willow Space isn’t just about credentials or clinical training (though those matter!). It’s about a certain kind of person.

You are someone who is drawn to the complexity of trauma, not intimidated by it. You find meaning in sitting with clients at the intersection of pain and possibility. You believe that the therapeutic relationship is not incidental to healing, but is the vehicle to healing.

You bring curiosity and bodily awareness to your clinical work. You want to understand the why behind a client’s patterns, not just treat the surface level symptoms. You think in systems and relationships, and how the two intersect.

You are honest and direct, but always kind. You can hold feedback and give it. You value supervision not as an obligation, but as an opportunity to grow. You are willing to say “I don’t know” and lean into learning.

You care about doing this work well- not perfectly, but intentionally. You hold your clients with compassion and hold yourself with appropriate accountability. You understand that your own nervous system matters, and you take your wellness seriously as a professional commitment, not just a personal one.

And perhaps most importantly, you want to belong to something. Not just a job, but a mission. The Willow Space is building something meaningful in this community, and you want to be part of it.

What Makes Us Different:

There is no shortage of private practice opportunities for skilled clinicians. So the question is: why here?

Most private practices are structured around the clinician’s productivity first. The Willow Space was structured around something different: the idea that trauma-focused, experiential care done well (and done right) requires a particular kind of clinical nurturing.

We offer paid admin time, because we know that documentation, coordination, and case conceptualization are real clinical work and should be treated as such.

We offer individual and group supervision, because we believe in the power of the collective clinical mind and want learning to be a protected part of your week, not squeezed in after hours.

We offer an annual training stipend, because your professional growth is an investment we are genuinely committed to fostering.

But beyond the structure, what makes us different is less tangible and more important: we are a practice where the clinical conversation never stops. Where your instinct as a clinician is respected. Where you are trusted as an expert and supported as a human. Where leadership is accessible, decisions are transparent, and the door to honest dialogue is always open.

We are not a perfect organization,  we are an intentional one. We are growing rapidly and want to bring along others who have a shared passion for our vision. We are looking for people who are excited by the opportunities, not burdened by it.

Leadership at The Willow Space:

Leadership at The Willow Space is not hierarchical for hierarchy’s sake. We lead from a place of transparency, accountability, and genuine investment in the people on our team.

To be seen and heard.

Your clinical voice matters. Your feedback on the practice, on processes, and on your own experience is welcomed and taken seriously. We are actively building this practice, and the people doing the clinical work have an essential perspective on how it should grow.

Clear expectations and honest communication.

We will not leave you guessing. When there are changes, you will know why. When there are concerns, they will be named directly and compassionately, not avoided. We ask the same in return.

Clinical mentorship and investment in your growth.

Leadership at The Willow Space holds deep clinical expertise and is genuinely invested in your development as a trauma-focused clinician. Supervision here is collaborative, not evaluative in tone. We want to help you become the best version of your clinical self in supporting your future goals.

A leadership team that practices what it preaches.
